I Scream, You Scream...

Today was Fun Day at Bhevini Carepoint.  There was a bounce house, lots of food and lots of fun!  Today was the first time that many of them had ever had ice cream!  You might notice also, a lot of the kids wore their new clothes!  They looked so good and were very well behaved.  A great time was had by all.  I pray that after we leave, God will provide the children and families of this area with all their needs.
Father, thank you for the time that we were able to show these kids a good time.
They were all so appreciative and humble.  We pray that they saw a glimpse of You in us.
Thank you for the opportunity to love on your sweet kids.

Moon Over Mia....Mangwaneni!

This was an awesome day!  We were able to visit the children's ward at the hospital today before going to the Carepoint.  I enjoyed lovin' on a few babies and didn't want to leave.  At Mangwaneni today, we were able to pass out the many things all of you have donated over the past few months!  Thank you so much!  The kids loved the stuff.  It was all very much needed.  Can't wait to do the same thing at another Carepoint in a couple of days.
As I sat here tonight, thinking about the day and unwinding, I decided to change my profile pic in facebook.  I found a pic of me and a couple of cute kids and squared it off before I uploaded it.  A little later, I got a comment about the lovely moon in the background.  Guess I didn't square it off enough!  Oh well....

Zacchaeus???

Today was our first day at Mangwaneni Carepoint.  So many awesome things happened, but I just wanted to share one with you now before I hit the sack.  I took this picture earlier in the day.  I didn't think of it then, but, during a little team meeting this evening before we split up, we were discussing a few things and the story of Zacchaeus came up.  After the meeting, I went up to my room and was downloading some photos and saw this pic.  This is, essentially, Zacchaeus and Jesus up in the sycamore tree!  Actually, that's not Zacchaeus, it's one of the older boys in the carepoint.  The other guy, Steve Rowland, was being Jesus to this boy.  He didn't just tell him to come down, he went up in the tree with him!  Steve spent the entire day with the older boys being Jesus.  This is a group that for some can be hard to connect with, or have them connect with you, but from the first minute there, he was awesome!  And let me just say, Steve will sleep good tonight.  He was nonstop Jesus and I just wanted to say thanks, Steve!  You're a great role model for these guys.

Room with a View!

After we packed our bags back on the van this morning, we headed for Swaziland.  A few hours into the trip we made a little stop at a giant roadside gas station/city.  As you know, after a few hours on the road, one normally has to go take care of some personal business.  First things first.  As you can see below, this was not your ordinary facilities.  This was a Room with a View!  How many of you can say they took care of business while watching a rhinoceros and a few emus?  I didn't think so.....

VIP's

Well, we made it in to Johannesburg last night and through customs without even one hiccup.  We walked by the baggage check area and didn't even break stride!  VIP's!  That just got me to thinkin....(uh-oh, now my wife's starting to worry about what I'll say next!)  That sweet little boy with snot dried up all over his face, and that beautiful little girl who's older sister is the head of the household are VIP's too!  These kids we are coming to love on and minister to, are just as important to the Father as we are.  That's why we're here.  We want to show them and give them God's VIP treatment, and I can't wait to "heap" it on 'em!

Hurry Up and Wait!

I can't believe we're actually on the way! Our first leg from DFW to Atlanta was smooth and uneventful. Our pilot actually had a lead foot. What was supposed to take two hours and seven minutes only took a little over an hour and a half. This pic is part of the group chillin'.

Game On!!!

We'll be leaving for Swaziland on SATURDAY!!!  As I'm able, I'll be updating this blog with what's happening during the trip and also posting some pictures.  Every time you think about it, pray for us!  We don't want to take one step or say one thing outside the will of God.
